Even though Christian Böttcher lost his round 12 feature match, we decided to take a closer look and introduce you to his take on the Anti Deck. His creative build shows that Elemental Heroes can still be a force to be reckoned with and that it pays out to know about cards that aren’t played that often.

One can’t help but feel a little nostalgic when looking at Böttcher’s list. A lot of the cards he’s running used to be dominant in past formats, but don’t belong to the popular choices for the reigning superstars like X-Sabers, Infernities, Blackwings or Frog Monarchs. Still, as Böttcher’s record proves, cards like Elemental Hero Stratos can still make a competitive deck. With a 7 – 4 record, he still has a slight chance of making top 8 and a Dark End Dragon is already pretty much guaranteed for him.

The biggest strength of the deck is the fact that Bötcher doesn’t need to run a lot of monsters thanks to the effects of Elemental Hero Stratos, Reinforcement of the Army and E - Emergency Call. Their search effects speed up the deck and provide him with the fuel to put the pressure on his opponent from early on. With 1900 ATK respectively, Elemental Hero Neos Alius, Crusader of Endymion, Doomcaliber Knight and Thunder King Rai-Oh are some of the strongest 4 star monsters in the game and can only be trumped in battle by Tribute or Synchro Monsters. Even if an opponent’s monster has more printed ATK, Böttcher can always use Honest to give his star players a large boost and dish out a lot of damage in the process.

Crusader of Endymion and Elemental Hero Neos Alius are not only strong on the offense, they are also both Gemini Monsters, allowing Böttcher to run 3 copies of Gemini Spark. The Quick Spell Card is a great answer to popular cards like Dimensional Prison or Bottomless Trap Hole as you can simply ditch your monster, take down an opposing threat and draw into a fresh card at the same time. Elemental Hero Neos Alius also works well with Hero Blast.

In Böttcher’s version, 3 Smashing Grounds, 2 Dimensional Prisons as well as 2 Bottomless Trap Holes complete this line up. With the help of Skill Drain, you can easily shut down all offensive moves of an unprepared opponent, forcing him to rely on Spell or Trap Cards to get rid of your own threats. As many decks are heavily relying on their monster’s effects, Skill Drain is often all it takes to win a match. Even if an opponent has an answer, Böttcher can still try to keep his Continuous Trap Card on the field with Dark Bribe, Starlight Road and Solemn Judgment.

The Side Deck provides answers for all of the popular decks. Mask of Restrict can shut down Monarch decks all on its own, Consecrated Light is extremely useful against Infernities and Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World can punish X-Saber players trying to strip you off your cards in your hand.

All in all, Böttcher’s deck is well prepared against many of the popular decks in the format. While his game plan is pretty straightforward, it doesn’t make the deck any less effective.

Le deck me parait vraiment bien , même si e n'est qu'une variante du "classique" ...Fallait y penser et avoir les couille de jouer Dark Factory Of Mass Production/Future Fusion /Raptinus
Perso je kiffe , j'vais devenir fan de lui si il continue comme ça^^

En tout cas ça me réconforte dans l'idée que skill drain dans ce deck c'est fort =)...Car les 3 cartes les plus chiante dans saber par exemple sont :
-Heavy storm
-Cold Wave
-Giant Trunade
Royal Oppression est emmerdé par les 3,
Tandisque Skill drain n'est emmerdé que par Giant Trunade.
Les MP a coté peuvent gérer (Starlight/Bribe...Et en monstre Honest)

Pour le cat machin , le gars se prend lost puis disqualification pour stack , c'est balot x: ils auraient pu choper Togores aussi mais il s'est caché derrière ses cheveux xD
